I have been experimenting with using different more delicate patterns on the clay. My lovely friend lent me a wooden roller that has a pattern carved into it and that is normally used to put a pattern into pastry, but I have been using it to impress a pattern into the clay, I think it has worked beautifully.
I then applied glaze and wiped the glaze off slightly so that you can see the delicate pattern underneath left by the wooden roller.
I also then left some of the hearts without any further adornment but to one of the hearts I pierced the clay and then threaded metal wire through the holes.
Because I enjoyed making these hearts so much using this pattern I decided to try and make something else. I made a very thin and delicate wave shaped bowl. I did this by shaping the clay upside down over a tube. It turned out very well.
